Role Description |

We are looking for volunteers who are able to regularly give us three hours of their time to be Welcome Hosts. This role is incredibly important to the Museum as this is the first person visitors meet and is vital to ensure we can be open. The role might appeal to someone interested in learning about museums, meeting new people or supporting the history and culture of Linlithgow. Volunteers will receive full training in the role and be provided with a mentor to provide support and advice. Further training will be provided in line will with the Trusts Covid Risk Assessment. Further volunteer opportunities will be available in other areas of the museum for those interested. |
Main tasks |
---|
• Undertake activities as agreed with Communities Coordinator and mentor. This will include but is not restricted to the following: o Opening and Closing the Museum o Welcoming visitors and answering queries/questions o Collecting information for Track and Trace purposes o Recording visitor numbers o Manning the retail space and operating the till o Encouraging visitors to give feedback and donate o Cleaning the museum public areas as outlined in the museum COVID Cleaning and Hygiene Plan |
Required skills, qualities, and experience |

Interest in history and/or museums. Interest in history of Linlithgow and the surrounding area. Good people skills. Good listening skills. Proactive and friendly individual. |
Training and support available |
