If you are coming to visit Linlithgow – we look forward to welcoming you to our Royal Burgh! Whilst we are steeped in history, we always have lots going on.
Linlithgow is in easy reach of both Edinburgh (20 minutes by train) and Glasgow (30 minutes by train). This makes our beautiful town an ideal base for a longer visit. We boast strong connections to the Stuart Kings of Scotland and our Palace was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. We’re pretty famous and have been featured in lots of movies and tv series. This includes the Outlander tv series – some of the locations are right in Linlithgow.
There are lots to see and do when you visit Linlithgow! We have lots of events and activities daily, weekly and monthly so no matter when you visit you’ll find something to do. We’ve got high-quality accommodation, excellent places to eat and drink and great local shopping. That all means your visit will be fun, comfortable and enjoyable. Our town motto “St Michael is kinde to straingers” ensures you will receive a warm welcome wherever you go!
