Event Details

The Wild Webinar Series is brought to you by the RSPB’s Giving Nature a Home Glasgow and Edinburgh team with contributions from partners, including support from ScotRail.

Hedgehogs…otters…badgers…bats and more… have you ever wondered what mammals live near you? Join us by opening your eyes and mind to the wonderful diversity of mammals around you!

Mammals live lives that are often mysterious to us. From the scarcely seen to the brilliantly bold, such species continue to capture the imaginations of us all. From childhood stories to long-lasting adulthood awe, it is little wonder these creatures fascinate us so deeply.

Scotland is home to many important species of mammals, and we invite you to join us in learning more about about them; particularly those that are likely living right under your nose without realising it. As well as revealing top tips to discover what species live near you, we’ll talk about those species that are in real need and what we can do as individuals and communities to help them. From citizen science to plenty of family fun activities, we’ve got you covered!

For this session, we’re delighted to be joined by Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Centre, to share their first-hand wildlife rescue, rehabiliation and release experiences. By raising awareness of the struggles many of our mammals face, and the simple solutions we can take to really improve their surivival, you will be left feeling informed, inspired and motivated to protect our wild mammals.

Perhaps you are parents looking for the next fun family activity to do in lockdown, community groups looking to help mammals into your area, teachers looking for an environmental/outdoor lesson for the class, or individuals looking to experience blissful and mindful moments immersed in nature. Perhaps you’re someone else entirely! We would love to hear from you.

Please note: if you are under 16 you’ll need to ask your parents or guardians to log in with you, or a trusted adult that they recommend.
