Janice Hadlow is a Fellow of the Royal Television Society, as well as of King’s College, University of London. We are delighted to welcome her to the Further From Festival with her very first novel, The Other Bennet Sister. This is a warm homage to Jane Austen’s most-loved work, as well as a wonderful new story in its own right. Join us to discover what becomes of Mary Bennet. Often regarded as the most unlovely of the five iconic Bennet sisters, but here given her own voice and a real ending at last. ‘It is a sad fact of life that if a young woman is unlucky enough to come into the world without expectations, she had better do all she can to ensure she is born beautiful. To be handsome and poor is misfortune enough; but to be both plain and penniless is a hard fate indeed.’
Tickets are £8 including refreshments and can be purchased from Far From The Madding Crowd.
