This heart-warming classic has become a firm tradition in the run up to Christmas at the Hippodrome over the years, so what better way to welcome our audiences back than with screenings of this evergreen, much-loved favourite. And what better time to remind ourselves of the message at the film’s heart – small acts of kindness and looking out for others gives life meaning and makes communities whole.

Christmas Eve and dedicated family man George Bailey contemplates ending it all, believing it would be better for everyone if he was dead. But the prayers of his loved ones summon a novice guardian-angel named Clarence who sets about showing George what things would have been like had he never been born.
