Try an outdoor adventure sport near Linlithgow. Ideal for all ages and abilities, families, children and runners welcome. Loads of help is available and no experience is necessary. We’re running 4 sessions on Saturday afternoons in September. Every week will have different routes for you to try!
Start anytime between 13:30-14:30 (everyone starts at a different time so you can’t follow!) Meet: Lochside Car Park
New to orienteering? It’s a trail run (and often an off-trail run!) with a difference – an orienteering race doesn’t follow a set route. Instead you have to visit a series of checkpoints and register each one with an electronic timing chip. The checkpoints are marked by flags on the ground and may be along paths, walls, streams or anywhere around the area. The challenge is to race between each one, choosing your own route between the checkpoints, using an orienteering map (which you get to keep too). Why not come and give it a go?
What do I need? It’s an outdoor sport, dress for the weather conditions. You may encounter mud and bushy vegetation so please don’t bring your designer clothes… We’ll give you a map, compass and an electronic card for recording your time.
Courses; Kids: Ideal for under 16s. Approx 1.5km. Ages 5-12 – must be accompanied by an adult. Age 13-16 – can try navigating solo
Adults/Families: Perfect if you haven’t done any/much before. Approx 2.5km, allow up to an hour to complete! On and off-path.
Cost: Group £5, Adult £5, Under 20s £3
