Linlithgow Athletics Club is a community amateur sports club, based in Linlithgow. Affiliated with Scottish Athletics, we offer a friendly, inclusive environment. We encourage each other to 'be the best that we can be' through a shared enthusiasm for athletics. We have a junior club for ages 9 upwards and a senior club for over 18's.
When and where do you meet?
Juniors meet on a Monday, whilst the Senior Club meets on Tuesdays (for social runs) and Thursdays (for coached sessions). Sessions meet at the Low Port in Linlithgow except for track evenings which are held at Grangemouth Stadium. The training schedule for seniors is posted here.
Why would I be interested in getting involved?
Linlithgow Athletic Club is a diverse lot, fast and slow, young and old, men and women. Some run competitively, others socially, and most a bit of both. We aim to offer a friendly, inclusive club, where everyone is welcome. There are some experienced runners at the club and many hold coaching qualifications awarded by our governing body Scottish Athletics and jogscotland. If you can run three or four miles continuously and you want to take your running a step further then this could be right for you.
Linlithgow Athletics Club is always on the lookout for new volunteers to become coaches and supervisors and undertake the appropriate qualifications from Scottish Athletics.
We also have a team which manages the CCW Linlithgow 10k & Junior Fun Run on an annual basis. There is a committee (currently consisting of 8 volunteers) that meets regularly in the months leading up to the event and is responsible for planning, permits, equipment and budget etc. The team is expanded on race day by a large amount. Using groups and individuals to carry out a great number of roles such as course set-up and clear-down, registration, marshals and sundry other activities. We have around 90 roles to fill on this day. Therefore, all hands are welcome, please get in touch if you would like to support us in this way.
