We are looking for some DIY enthusiasts to join our sociable group of Linlithgow Tool Library volunteers.
Our main session is on a Monday from 10.30am-12.30pm in the EH49 Hub (Old library building in town). We also have a shorter session on a Tuesday evening from 5pm-7pm.
Our inventory is mainly made up of donations from the community and tool library members can borrow tools via our online booking system. You can take a look at how it works here Linlithgow Tool Library (myturn.com)
As one of our Linlithgow Tool Library volunteers you could be assisting preparing orders, checking our tools over when they are checked in and out, as well as adding new items to our inventory and maintaining what we have. If I.T. is your thing you could be updating our online inventory management system or selling some excess tools online. In addition, our volunteers can have small DIY projects to keep busy with, usually with a re-use, upcycling focus. For example, this festive season our volunteers made a number of wooden Christmas tree stands using wood from pallets as part of a wider community initiative to donate trees to local families. These kinds of projects are leading to some ideas to develop a Community Shed and Repair Café too so it’s a great time to get involved.
