[email protected]’s: A Season of Song, part 2. Sunday 13th March, 3pm. Cathy Vickers-Morton (soprano) Alan Hastie (piano) Alison Hastie (organ). Cathy’s programme spans Italian aria, French sacred song and romantic German – Richard Strauss’s ‘Im Abendrot’ (At Dusk) calls for the orchestral colours of the organ, in a transcription by Alison Hastie. There shall be American song too, in the shape of Samuel Barber and Steven Sondheim. Songs without words feature also – two gems by Mendelssohn for solo piano, played by Alan Hastie. A Sunday afternoon treat! Admission free, donations shall be welcome for the upkeep of the organ fund.
