Event Details

Esteemed Author Andrew Greig reads from his latest collection “Later That Day” (Polygon) and other poems from his long and illustrious career. He is joined by acclaimed traditional musician Rachel Newton who plays heart-stopping clarsach and viola instrumentals and songs in the Gaelic tradition, while also providing accompaniment to some of Andrew’s poems and songs. Two talents at the top of their game, separately and jointly they bring delight, wit and solace to our challenging times.
“Andrew Greig’s poetry has been moving me to tears and smiles for fifty years” -Val McDermid. “Haunting and compelling” – The Guardian on Rachel’s new album “To the Awe”.

Organizer

Linlithgow Arts Guild

Linlithgow Arts Guild is a voluntary organisation. Its aim is to “Bring Excellence in the Live Arts to Linlithgow”, and since 1969 we have had the privilege of promoting many fine performances by artists, ensembles and orchestras of world renown. The vast majority of performers are professional musicians who perform internationally. The concerts are open to everyone. Our programmes are varied and we hope to attract as many people as possible to spread the substantial costs of our events. Tickets for individual concerts are on sale to the general public for all of our events. We normally have around 200 season-ticket holders who comprise the membership. Our audience numbers have averaged around 200 in recent years, with nearly 400 for major events. We have sold tickets throughout Central Scotland, and sometimes further afield..
