Event Details

This concert features 6 talented young traditional musicians who have appeared in the annual BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award.  This includes the winner, Hannah Rarity, who hails from West Lothian, along with the winner of the previous year.

The line up for this Tour is:

  • 2018 winner Hannah Rarity – voice (Dechmont)
  • 2017 winner Charlie Stewart – fiddle (Perthshire)
  • Rory Matheson – piano (Drumbeg)
  • Amy Papinransky – voice (Keith)
  • David Shedden – bagpipes (Glasgow)
  • Luc McNally – guitar & voice (Dipton)

NB: finalist Ali Levack – whistles/pipes (Maryburgh) is not able to take part in the Tour but is included in the Tour CD/recording.

The concert tour takes the young musicians back to their home towns as well as other parts of Scotland.  This is so they can inspire others and thank their communities for the support they have had over the years.
