Linlithgow And Linlithgow Bridge Children’s Gala Day
The first children's gala day of Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge took place in 1930. Children from the local primary schools have their names drawn to play roles from Gala Queen to lady in waiting, from Queen’s champion to junior guard. The Gala Day gives the children of Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge a special event of their own. There is a parade through the town with local bands, organisations and the children and then a crowning ceremony. We are a charity and committee set up to organise and run the event annually.
Where and when do you meet?
The Gala Day is held in June of each year on the Saturday after The Linlithgow Marches.
Why would I be interested in getting involved?
We are always looking for volunteers to help us organise and run the gala day, promote the gala day at other community events throughout the year and fundraise to hold the event annually.
