Scottish Women’s Institutes – West Lothian
We are Scotland’s leading member-based organisation created by women in 1917, designed to bring women together, with a vision to welcome every woman in Scotland to join us.
When and where do you meet?
There are four local SWI groups. Linlithgow Bridge meets in the Chalmers Hall on the 4th Wednesday of the month - 7.15 pm. Philpstoun branch meets in Philipstoun Community Centre on the 2nd Tuesday of the month - 7:00 pm. The Blackness Group meet in Blackness Community Hall (by Primary School) on the 1st Wednesday of the month - 7:15 pm. Ecclesmachan meet in the Ecclesmachan Community Hall on the 1st Thursday of the month - 7.30 pm
Why would I be interested in being involved?
We are here to educate, to share, to campaign, to learn, to socialise, to build a community and of course, to have fun. From life skills and arts and crafts to raising awareness of current affairs affecting women and helping inform government issues, the SWI is proud of its heritage and our future vision. Each institute draws up its own syllabus of speakers, activities, workshops and demonstrations. We welcome ladies of all ages who want to have fun, learn new skills and make new friends.
