This is a beautiful hand made and bound A5 notebook featuring very colourful black and white repeat pattern of Art Deco style fans with red buckram band covering the spine. There are 144 lined pages of white cartridge paper which is lignin and acid free, so is perfect for writing your notes and memories.
The repeat pattern in black and white and dates from the 1920s is hand screen printed on high quality Zerkall printing paper. There is also the subtlest tiny gold lines running across the fan design
The book has a contrasting red coloured paper on the inside of the front and back covers.
At the top and bottom of the spine (or the ‘head’ and ‘tail’ as we bookbinders call them) is a hand sewn contrasting endband in red and black thread.
Along the edges of the pages is a hand-sprinkled dot design in contrasting red and black.
The book is completely hand sewn before it is covered using 100% linen thread which is first coated, again by hand, in beeswax. The cover is then made separately and then the pages and the cover are brought together to form the book.
Because of the very nature of the design of the book, it is a unique item, no two will ever be the same, and therefore would make a fantastic gift for a loved one.
