This is a beautiful hand made and bound A5 notebook featuring very colourful red and grey 1930s repeat pattern with red buckram band covering the spine. There are 128 blank pages of recycled paper (made from drinking cups!) inside at a fantastic 140gsm weight, so is perfect for writing, drawing and sketching.
The repeat pattern in red and grey is hand screen printed and dates from the 1930s on Zerkall printing paper which is very high quality.
The book has a contrasting red coloured paper on the inside of the front and back covers.
At the top and bottom of the spine (or the ‘head’ and ‘tail’ as we bookbinders call them) is a hand sewn contrasting endband in a red and grey thread.
Along the edges of the pages is a hand-sprinkled dot design in contrasting red and grey.
The book is completely hand sewn before it is covered using 100% linen thread which is first coated, again by hand, in beeswax. The cover is then made separately and then the pages and the cover are brought together to form the book.
Because of the very nature of the design of the book, it is a unique item, no two will ever be the same, and therefore would make a fantastic gift for a loved one.
