This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is all about being silly! Scotland’s Public Libraries will be showcasing authors who can help children complete the #ScottishSillySquad challenge throughout July, culminating in Super Silly Saturday on Saturday 8th August. Come join in the fun!
12noon – Lari Don
A writer and storyteller who works with schools and festivals throughout the country, Lari Don has had eight books published, including the First Aid for Fairies trilogy, Tam O’Shanter, The Mountain’s Blood, and Rocking Horse War.
1pm – Paul Bristow
Paul Bristow has written for radio and television as well as running community projects, including the development of a social enterprise to encourage the use of graphic novels in the classroom. His first children’s novel, The Superpower Project, was shortlisted for the Kelpies Prize 2014.
2pm – Ron Fairweather
Ron Fairweather has been telling stories and singing songs for as long as he can remember. As part of the group Macastory with fellow storyteller Fergus McNicol, Ron has enjoyed great success and pleasure from writing and performing the stories, songs and poems for their unique and humorous themed shows.
