We are delighted to offer the first of our Sewing Workshops in collaboration with local sewer and dressmaker, Nici.
In this class Nici will teach you how to make a small and practical backpack using upcycled materials, including reclaimed hessian coffee sacks! This is a beginner to intermediate class, touching on a wide range of sewing skills including:
– Sewing in a zip
– Making buttonholes and sewing on buttons
– Sew on a snap fastener
– Side seams
– Finishing a hem
– Inserting a lining
– Sewing pleats and darts
– Some hand sewing
All materials included plus tea, coffee and light refreshments are provided. Sewing machines are also provided, but we encourage you to bring along your own machine if you prefer. £100 for the course. Book your ticket below.
This is a 5 week workshop. Sessions will be held each Monday night between 6 and 8:30pm starting 3rd of June and ending 1st July. Please only sign up for the course if you can make all the sessions and arrive on time.
