Event Details
Following the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement and important global discussions around racial injustice, Comic Relief one of the UK’s most well-known charities, is launching a series of online discussions exploring better ways to work across charity and creative sectors, to support Black communities and challenge inequalities.
From working to shift the power in our UK and international funding streams, to supporting Black-led projects and ensuring better representation across our TV work, advertising and appeal films, we hope this series of talks will generate meaningful conversations that turn into positive actions.
You are warmly invited to our opening event with a special discussion around changes in the creative industry with Lenny Henry, one of our best loved TV personalities and Comic Relief Honorary Life President, and June Sarpong OBE, author, broadcaster & BBC Creative Director of Diversity. The online event will take place on Wednesday 28th October 2020 at 10am and will be hosted by award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Charlene White.
Register for this event and a zoom link will be shared with you closer to the date.
We do hope you can join Comic Relief for our opening event, which takes place at the end of Black History Month.
We feel it’s important to keep positive dialogue going beyond hashtags and designated months and to also share with you the progress Comic Relief are making as we listen, learn and grow.
