Fungi Forage

Escape from the city to discover a range of fungi in a beautiful woodland just moments from the burgh. Ambling through trees and along the water we will explore a variety of mushrooms through various habitats. Throughout the morning gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. Discover which mushroom families are an ideal starting point for beginners and where to find them as well as what is in season in September.

The walk should last ~2.5 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to ask chat and ask questions. Exact location of the walk will be confirmed via email before the event. Suitable for all ages with children welcome – individual or family tickets. Accessible via public transport and car parking available. Tea and coffees available from the visitor center.
